There are many things each of us can do to help cut our energy use. From weatherizing a home with caulk, weatherstripping and insulation, to purchasing Energy Star rated appliances - the good news is that we do have control over how much power we use.
 Becoming energy smart is about knowledge. It's about having a place to get this valuable information. It's about considering how our actions affect our utility bills and our environment. For instance, leaving the refrigerator open while you pour the milk may not seem like such a big deal. Do it every day for 30 seconds and over the course of a year, you've left the door open for almost three and a half hours!
